Brail (ADA) Signs Brail signs are required in every public building and are governed by sign standards established by the "American Disabilities, Act" (ADA). These standards dictate size, content and placement of basic directional and other signs used in all public buildings. This is a good thing as these rules on content and placement makes it easier for all of us to navigate public buildings. These standards also provide for brail writing to included on most directional signs so the blind can also navigate a building to find offices, restrooms etc. Brail requires raised lettering to consistent heights which can be touched to decipher the message. In sign making this requires special processes and knowledge of the ADA standards to produce these signs. For custom applications we match color schemes for a building to these signs for a uniform and professional look. To specify and order your braille signs: Think about what you would like it to say on your sign and the size you want. Contact us by phone, fax or email to provide the information needed for customization of your sign. A fax with a sketch or picture is a very effective way to communicate ideas. Before construction of your sign is started, our professional graphic designers will be in contact with you using layouts by fax or email to verify the details of your custom sign. That way we can insure we are making just what you want. After we verify the details for sign with you, we will begin construction and then ship it to you. You will be contacted when your sign is shipped. We normally use Airborne Express for shipping. All major credit cards are accepted. |
